Nat King Cole

There was a song, a very strange enchanted song and it was poetry for my imagination. I’d heard it before and loved it at once, but it took an idol, Casey Abrams, to remind me of its truth.

There was a boy
A very strange enchanted boy
They say he wandered very far, very far
Over land and sea
A little shy
And sad of eye
But very wise
Was he

And then one day
A magic day he came my way
And while we spoke of many things, fools and kings
This he said to me
The greatest thing
You’ll ever learn
Is just to love
And be loved
In return

The greatest thing
You’ll ever learn
Is just to love
And be loved
In return

Doesn’t that inspire your muse to go above and beyond? It takes true literary talent to create something so elegant from words so simple. If you’re not a fan of American Idol, I understand, but you should take a minute to watch Casey Abrams performance of this song. It’s utterly moving.
